Richie came to my Monday night bridge game for over eight years. He played with a real nice gentleman named Joe Fehir. In the last few months, Joe couldn't play a few times, so I took his place. I always knew Richie was a decent player, but after playing with him a few times recently he proved to be better than I had thought. He was easy going and not critical, a perfect bridge partner. Through the years we went out to eat several times and he really enjoyed his food. Never complained, never sent anything back. I will miss him everyday for the rest of my life. I wish God hadn't taken him so soon, but he must have had a reason. Maybe there were three good players in heaven and they needed a fourth. Rest in peace, Richie. You take a lot of love with you!

Rich hired me at General Dynamics in 1991. I lacked experience, just a Packaging Degree from MSU. About a year after working for him, he told me he took a chance in hiring me and was glad he did. I'll never forget the kindness and respect he gave to us. A great man, sure to be missed.

My father was the bridge I knew would keep me navigating these troubled waters. He was the reassurance I had someone in this callous world. He was the molten core of my fearsome prevalence. He is in everything I do and everything I think and feel. He opened the world up to me and let me be myself. He made me feel like there was a reason to keep fighting and always be true to myself. He taught me how to love myself and be the optimism I needed to get through the toughest of days. He always asked me what I thought of this or that. We would have philosophical talks after he read me Harry Potter as a kid or after listening to music together or watching the news together. He would teach me about the world and I swear he knew everything there was to know. He always had a smile on his face. He will always have a smile on his face in my memories. He will live on as he was throughout my life, not the zombie that the hospital made him into. He was so caring and loving that I couldn't be that cold person around him. He gave me everything there was to give a child. He gave me courage, creativity, understanding, optimism, caring, rationalization, whit, puns, fun, and sympathy.
He loved bridge and good food. He loved to live life to the fullest and he wanted everyone to be happy, even at the expense of his own happiness. Most of all, he loved his family. Rest In Peace dad. I'll always love you and I'll keep trying to be happy for you. â¤ï¸
