Richard Ofiara

Richard Ofiara, age 75 of Warren, died September 2, 2014. He was born in Detroit on February 20, 1939; the son of Walter and Jenny (nee Wysocki) Ofiara. Richard honorably served as a Paratrooper in the United States Army from September of 1958 until September of 1960. After the military, Richard graduated from Lawrence Tech in Southfield which prepared him for his longtime career as a Draftsman designing machines that were instrumental in manufacturing automotive parts. In his free time, Richard enjoyed cooking and gardening. His favorite time of year was in the heat of the summer when he could tend to his roses and vegetables. Beloved husband of the late Patricia. Loving brother of Eleanor Gruszczynski and the late George. Dear brother-in-law of Betty (Joe) Nasypany. Uncle of Nancy (Mike) Walkowiak, Gregory (Jean), Randy (Carol), David (Rea) and Debra (Scott) Kesterson. Great-uncle of many. Visitation for Richard will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. Funeral Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 12:00pm at the funeral home. Interment to immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
