Dear Fern, We are so sorry and send our prayer. The memory of his smile and the chuckle in his laugh.......................will never be forgotten. The apprenticeship at Budd Wheel and the memories are forever moments that we cherish. He and Dick were always trying to find a way to joke and fool around. God bless you and yours. Dave and Dori ps. Mrs. Overholt, please accept my most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. May the peace that comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days ahead. Mr. O was a great person; he taught me so much about life. I thank him for all the great memorys / he took my brothers and I - fishing, boating, drive in movies, go-karting and best of all, to Tigers games. He was a great baseball coach who instilled confidence in a player and gave that person the will to win. Living next door to the Overholts were the GREATEST days of my life !!!!!! I was introduced to Rick on April 11th 1965. and it started the best friendship I have ever had in my life. We went through a apprenticeship together, played baseball, bowled, coached our children together. We played cards, and had a long lasting relationship that never had a cross word with each other. My fondest memory of Rick was his love for Fern and his family. He always told me that marrying Fern was best decision of his life. Our meetings for breakfast will never be the same without him.

Uncle Rick will be missed by many including myself. I can remember him taking me to the Red Wings and Tigers when I was a kid. And I also remember staying with him and Aunt Fern for a while before we moved to South Carolina. Love Steve

Dear family. I am so sad to hear of Rick's passing. So many memories of all of you (the boys ) in the boat coming up the river. So sorry Fern. Love all of you.

May all the love in this world rest in the hearts of all of his family and friends. It was an honor to have been a part of grandpa's life.

I feel so bad for Aunt Fern and the rest if the family for their loss. I know how hard it is. I LOVED coming over as a kid Uncle Rick always made me feel special. I remeber rick from when we first moved next door to him. He loved children and loved making me laugh! He would always give me and my mom flowers from his planting days and I believe I bought my first bike for izY and myself from rick. No matter what hobby he had though he would always say hi when we pulled up and isabella adored rick and fern. He will be missed so much! It will never feel the same way without my ricker waiting to say hi to us on his porch.
