Robert Stark

Robert John “Bob” Stark of Grosse Pointe Woods passed away on April 28, 2022. Bob is survived by his daughter Karen (Bill) Bogle, son Gary (Kristen) Stark, granddaughter Rebecca Bogle and grandson Daniel Stark. He was predeceased by his wife Judy Stark and his parents Marie and George Stark.

Born in Detroit on April 6, 1940 to Marie and George Stark, Bob graduated from St. Veronica Grade School (Class of 1954), Notre Dame High School (Class of 1958) and the University of Detroit, where he received his Bachelor of Science (1962) and Master of Arts (1970) degrees.

Bob began his professional career as a teacher at St. Clement High School, where he taught business education and coached track and field. He also taught at Harper Woods High School and Notre Dame High School before serving as Professor of Accounting at Macomb Community College. For his teaching excellence, Macomb Community College conferred the title of Professor Emeritus of Accounting on Bob in June 2014. In addition to his teaching career, Bob also owned and operated his own accounting, bookkeeping and tax practice for many years.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Bob was a devoted family man. He adored his wife Judy and cherished their loving relationship. Bob was most proud of his family and considered them to be his greatest accomplishment.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm with Rosary at 7:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Woods). Instate Friday, May 6 at 8:30 am until time of Mass 9 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church (6021 Whittier, Detroit).
