Several years ago it was my thrill to work on a committee at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rollin. We were searching for an assistant pastor and Rollin was selected to be the chairman of the committee...an excellent choice. I had not known Rollin before. From our discussions I remember wishing that my faith would be as strong as Rollin's. After that I saw him many times at worship services; his face always glowed - an example to all he met. He now has perfect healing and is in the arms of his Savior. Ted Birkholz

Nancy, I wanted you to know how sorry I was to learn of Rollin's death. All of us in Cardiac Rehab at Moross wish to extend you our condolances. Rollin was such a bright presence & an inspiration when he was with us in class. He was so upbeat before his amputations, & also afterwards. Even though we knew how hard everything was for him ( & you) it never showed, & nearly everyone in class felt his positive energy. Rollin was truly an exceptional person. Bless you & your familiy as you surround yourselves in memories of his gifts to you & all who were priviledged to know him.

I loved Rollin! I've known him for many many years in recovery. He is still an inspiration to me.

Nancy and all of Rollins Family; was greatly saddened to hear of your loss. He was a mentor to many, spoke wisely, great sense of humor..matched by his well known grin...never forgot the canoe trip with his son and several others with their sons, including my son...what good memories! May peace and serenity always be his.

My dearest Nancy, Lynette, Britta, Rob, and Mark, Rollin's passing will surely leave a terrible void in your lives. From the moment I met him back in the early 50's I knew he was a wonderful, kind hearted man. I have many fond memories of him and know that you do too. Rollin was an inspiration in so many ways. When I think of him I will "Remember to be kind--". I feel honored to have been his friend, and will miss him.

We may not have seen you Rollin as often as we would have wanted, but my memories of you will always be cherished. You were there when I needed you and Nan, and we had such lovely meals when you both traveled through Galena. What a special person you always were. You'll be remembered with love and smiles always.

First of all, I am saddened for your loss. Whenever I think of Rollin, though, I smile. He exuded such joy for His Lord and Savior and this was so evident. I know he suffered much mentally and physically, yet he never lost his hope in God. If more people could just look up instead of down at the swirling seas. Nancy and family, may you feel God's glorious peace and presence now. God is rejoicing to have Rollin with HIm as I am sure Rollin is . My thoughts and prayers are with you and I am thankful to have met such a beautiful individual.
