Roman I. Lawnicki was born in 1926 in Hamtramck, MI. He was born into an immigrant family who were business people. His father opened Northeastern Bakery on 6 mile near Davison and young Roman and his younger brothers, Gene, and Arthur, all worked to help out in the business. They were part of the strong Polish community in the area. In 1970, Northeastern Bakery was sold and from then on Roman continued to work as a cake baker at Oaza Bakery and American Bakery. He was a loving family man and husband of Eleanor. Roman and Eleanor had two children, Cynthia, and Roman John. He was a strong patriot who loved to study the political climate of our country and to share his views with others. He loved his family and especially cherished his grandchildren, Micah, Spencer, Erika, and Joseph, who were perfect in his eyes. His grandchildren loved him also and have many warm, funny, and pleasant memories to keep in their hearts and share with generations to come. Throughout his life his outside interests included cake decorating, politics, magic, handwriting analysis, religion, stamp collecting, flashlights, patriotism, music, sorting his mail and others.
