Ronald Alexander Bergeron, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Detroit on April 19, 1933, to Alex and Grace Bergeron. He later served his country honorably as a Sergeant in the United States Army. After his military service he attended Wayne State University, graduating with a degree in Business Administration.
For 62 years, Ron shared a profound love with his wife, Linda, building a life rooted in faith, compassion, and togetherness. As a father to Susan Lucchese (Joseph), David (Laurie), and Brian (Anna), Ron was a pillar of strength, providing not only financial stability through his distinguished career as an examiner for the FDIC and Federal Reserve Bank but also emotional and moral guidance. He nurtured his family with endless support, teaching them the values of kindness, resilience, and the importance of family bonds. His presence was a steady hand, whether offering wise counsel, sharing laughter at family gatherings, or simply being there when needed most.
Ron was also a devoted grandfather to Michael Lucchese, Alexa Lucchese (Christopher Keskitalo), Karina Lucchese, Megan Bergeron (Steven Demers), Eric, Matthew (Jessica), Brendan, Miranda, Natalie Junkersfeld (Collin), and Teagan; and a cherished great-grandfather to Hudson, Luciana, and Luke. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought immense joy to his life. He and Linda could always be found cheering them on at their events—especially sports—beaming with pride and love.
Ron loved to travel, and his family adventures created countless treasured memories. He also had a lifelong passion for boating, finding peace and happiness on the water with his loved ones. In retirement, he enjoyed bowling and the occasional trip to the casino—always with a twinkle in his eye and a story to share.
A devout Catholic, Ron drew strength and comfort from his faith. While he is no longer physically with us, we take solace in knowing he is now at peace—reunited with Linda and the loved ones who went before him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Ron will lie in state on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church, 22412 Overlake St, St. Clair Shores.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen (cskdetroit.org/online-donations), in honor of Ron’s generous spirit and love for family.
Though Ron may no longer be with us in body, his spirit, kindness, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
With love and remembrance,
The Bergeron Family
