The fabulous Pat Slaven is the only link I have to Roy, but he surely passed on all his best to her. Peace to all his survivors.

Peace be with you all, I know it is never easy to lose a loved one.

Roy Broman was an inspiration and a role model. His upbeat and friendly attitude personified the spirit of friendship and good will that was the basis of CSYCs foundation. Roy made everyone feel welcome and important. He took time to listen and offer good advice. No one more completely filled the role of our clubs Membership Chairman. Roy had a special talent for bringing out the best in others. He was thoughtful, encouraging, and had remarkable way of reminding all of us of how much we have to be grateful for.

I remember Mr. Broman from our days at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Detroit. He was a dedicated member; influential decision-maker; and God-fearing Christian man. I wish all of his family that I know (Ruth and Pat; Lois and Barbara; and Birgitta) comfort in these next days (and years) without him. Mr. Broman was a man you would not ever forget.

I am a friend of John's and just wanted to say your father was the only old Swede who came to my mothers (June Jones) funeral. Sorry to see him go.

The best memories of my teenage years include Uncle Roy. I learned to sail with him and John on Janta. Had many hair raising experiences with him. I appreciate the way he took me under his wing when I moved up to the big city from Indiana. I will always think of him and never will forget his great friendly personality.

Hello, I am so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. I have many great memories about our visits together while we were growing up. Your parents were good friends of my parents, and I am glad I got to know you all. Please know I am thinking about you all during this sad time. Fondly, Carol

I was so saddened to hear of Roy's passing last week. He was such a wonderful man and one of the most generous, caring, selfless and positive people I have had the privilege to meet in my life. He was such a wonderful friend to my mother for so many years - even when she was having a bad day, when Roy walked in the room, she absolutely beamed with joy! My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

Our sympathies go out to all of you. I remember your Dad taking us out sailing on Lake Sinclair when we were young. The lake looked like the ocean to me. Your Dad was so confident and at ease on the water that he took away any fear i had and made the trip enjoyable. I have often thought of your Dad when we have done our own trips so many years later. I will always remember your Dad.

Roy was a great volunteer at Services for Older Citizens. He was instrumental in getting the Meals on Wheels program off the ground by delivering meals to the home bound seniors two days a week. Great man with a contagious smile. Always helping anyone in need. He will be greatly missed.

Roy was a lovely man -- so gentle and kind....he will be greatly missed; and I pray for his family's peace.

In the Pacific, during WW II, Roy and I were the closest of friends. We shared the pilots' seat on many flights. I never knew him to be anything except upbeat. He will not only be missed by his family, but by all who knew him
