Salvatore Vitale

Sam was born on June 4, 1939 in Detroit to the late Peter and Rose Vitale. Sam honorably served our country in the United States Army and spent his whole professional career with Chrysler being a manager within their data systems department. Sam truly enjoyed helping others, often offering his help without ever being asked. His hobbies included operating remote controlled boats, cars, and airplanes; gardening, planning family gatherings, and family card nights. His absolute favorite thing in the whole world was his family, he was the glue that held them together and would often say “family is everything.”

Sam was the beloved husband of Barbara, who was the love of his life. Loving father of Andrea Vitale (Kurt) and the late Barb “Barbie” Vitale. Cherished “papa” of Shelby Rogers (Zac) and the late Brandon Brittingham. Devoted brother of Angie Kepler (the late Ken), Sophie Palazzolo (the late Joe), Margaret Walquist (Tim), the late Tony Vitale (Rosemarie), and the late Peter Vitale (Angie). Loving step father of Victor Babowicz (Shawn), Sue West (the late Chuck), Frank Babowicz. Step grandfather of Ryan West and Michael Babowicz (Kelly).  Sam is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who he all deeply cared for. Sam was truly loved by all who knew him and will be missed greatly.

Sam’s family will hold a visitation from 2:00pm-9:00pm on Thursday, Febraury 25 at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd., Warren. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Sam and Barb’s beloved dog Max, please make a donation to the ASPCA.
