Sam Mike Mackool

Sam Mackool passed away at William Beaumont Hospital in Grosse Pointe on March 24, 2014 at the age of 85. He was born on May 25, 1928 in Detroit; son of Nakli and Malekah (nee Candlaft) Mackool. He leaves behind his loving wife Sally. He was proud of his children Michael (Linda), Cindy (Jerry) Victorson, Lynn (Rodney) Campbell, and Sam (Cathleen). He adored his grandchildren Andrea, Michael, Dan, Nick, Alesa, Bradley, Alaina, Jordyn, Michelle, and the late Jason. He leaves behind his brother George. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A Trisagion will be held at 5:00 pm. Mr. Mackool will lie instate at St. George Antioch Orthodox Church, 2160 East Maple Rd., Troy, MI on Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 am. Father Joseph Antypas will officiate. Mr. Mackool will be interred at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org/, or to St. George Orthodox Church.
