Sean entered eternal life on March 2, 2024, and his spirit is carried on by his mom Virginia, his older brothers Chris and James, his sister-in-law Ericka, and an extended family of many aunts, uncles, cousins, Nikoli and Owen, and friends- one even goes back to the newborn nursery unit!
To say Sean cared about the people he knew and loved would be an understatement. He was constantly reaching out to say hi, rally the troops for a day of fun and food at the annual Highland Games, and he never missed a chance to celebrate a birthday! At the same time, we have since learned of the many selfless acts he did for others that we never knew about, like helping his neighbor’s build a garden, or donating plants and flowers to those in need of a smile. Sean understood how easy it was to get caught up with work, kids, the house falling apart, and every other aspect of life that stresses us out, and he would want us all to remember that life is precious… which is why he was so great at bringing family and friends together.
Sean’s favorite place was up north at the cabin. He spent as much time there as he could, often with family and friends. He loved anything Scottish and was incredibly proud of his heritage. This past year he even considered moving there! Anyone who knew Sean also knew he was a true patriot and loved the USA. The History channel was another favorite of his, as he enjoyed learning about the past and relished the simplicity of how life used to be. Most of all, he loved his family and friends, and was always thinking of creative ways to bring everyone together.
Sean is reunited with his best friend, and favorite hiking partner, Jeffrey A. Ditty, where he can forever enjoy the company of his Dad. Friends can visit with Sean’s family at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236) on Thursday, March 7, from 5 – 9pm. Funeral services will occur at First English Evangelical Lutheran Church (800 Vernier Rd, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236) on Friday, March 8, at 11am. Wear a splash of Scottish tartan if you have it.
Sean would like to remind us to live life to its fullest and be kind to one another. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sean's memory may be made to First English Evangelical Lutheran Church, 800 Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan 48236 US; and St. Andrew's Society of Detroit, 2363 Rochester Road, Troy, Michigan 48083 US.
