Tatiana Shamie

Tatiana Shamie of Grosse Pointe Woods passed away March 26, 2018. Mrs. Shamie was born in Romania and moved to the United States with her family. She later became a U.S. citizen. Mrs. Shamie was a proud graduate of the University of Michigan. In November 1950 she married George Shamie. Together they raised two daughters, Linda Mackool and Karen Shamie. George and Karen predecease her. Besides her daughter Linda, Mrs. Shamie is survived by her favorite son-in- law Mike. She has two grandchildren, Andrea Ferris (Corey) and Michael Mackool (Brianne). Additionally, she has two loving great-grandchildren, Lilliana and George Ferris. Mrs. Shamie will lie Instate Friday March 30th 10 am at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2160 E. Maple Rd. , Troy, MI until time of service 11am. Family will receive friends and visitors Thursday 3 pm until 9 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. , Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. There will be Trisaigion prayers at 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to St. George Antiochian Church or to The Capuchins, 1820 Mt Elliott, Detroit, MI 48207.
