Theresa Marie Burdick

Theresa Burdick passed away peacefully on October 27, 2012 at St. John Hospital with family by her side at the age of 75. She was born on February 26, 1937 in Detroit; daughter of Joaquin and Albertha (nee Clarke) Gaya. Theresa married Dale Burdick on July 30, 1966. They resided in Eastpointe for thirty years. Mrs. Burdick has lived in Grosse Pointe Woods for the last thirteen years. Theresa was a waitress at Lochmoor Club for many years. The biggest love in Theresa's life was her family. She helped her daughter raise her girls when they were young. She was very proud of her grand children and attended every school function. Theresa leaves behind her loving daughter Dawn Murray (Ron). She was proud of her grandchildren Bryan, Katie, and Emily. She was a great step-mother of Kathy Burdick. Visitation will be held on Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Pastor Colleen Kamke will officiate. Mrs. Burdick will be laid to rest next to her beloved Dale at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
