

BURGAM, Walter E. Resident of Grosse Pointe Shores and former resident of Detroit passed away on November 1, 2016 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Arlene (nee Tschoepe) for 61 years, he was predeceased by his sister Glenis Catalina. Besides his wife, he is also survived by their four children, two sons, Patrick Burgam (Debbie) and Kevin Burgam (Angelyn) and two daughters, Roxanne Bowers (Craig) and Michelle "Shelly" Herbst (Jeff); seven grandchildren, Joey Lea, Courtney, Calder, Ryan, Megan, Laurel, and Arlene Marie; and one great-grandson, Porter. Early in his career Walter worked for the city of Detroit but was perhaps best known for many years as the owner of The Bow Rack in St. Clair Shores. Besides being a member of the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, Walter was an avid outdoorsman. He loved all kinds of fishing, hunting and camping. Likewise, he was an ardent Detroit sports fan supporting the Tigers, the Lions and especially the Red Wings throughout his life. Family visitation will be held at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods on Sunday, November 13th from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Greater Michigan Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 25200 Telegraph Road, Suite 100, Southfield, MI 48033
