William T. Albrecht, age 78, of Grosse Pointe Farms, passed away on March 4, 2026. Born on November 6, 1947, in Detroit to Robert and June Albrecht, Bill lived a life defined by devotion to his family and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of time well spent.
He was the loving husband of Connie, his partner and constant companion. Bill was a proud and devoted father to Billy, Matt, and Alan (Holly) Albrecht, and a cherished grandfather to Emily, Elise, and Liana Albrecht, who brought him immense joy.
Bill was known for his ability to fix just about anything around the house, a skill he took pride in and generously shared. He passed this knowledge on to his three sons, teaching them not only how to repair things, but also the value of problem solving, perseverance, and self reliance.
He especially loved fishing and boating, and he found peace and happiness camping and traveling in his RV. He truly enjoyed the friendships he formed along the way, often looking forward to the new friends he made on camping trips and the shared stories and laughter that came with them. These moments outdoors—often spent with family and friends—were where many of his favorite memories were made.
He is also survived by his siblings, Richard (Bev) Albrecht and Carole Sine, and many cousins, nieces and nephews who will remember him with love.
A Celebration of Life honoring Bill will be held on May 15th from 3:00–8:00 p.m. at the City of Grosse Pointe Farms Park, located at 350 Lakeshore Rd, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236, Pier Park Boathouse. Family and friends are invited to gather to share cherished memories, reflect on the many moments that made Bill so special, and celebrate his life and the lasting legacy he leaves behind. Coney dogs and beverages will be provided, so please come ready to enjoy good food, good company, and a life well lived. In honor of Bill, guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Vineyard Vines shirt. We look forward to seeing you there.
