Truly a sad day... and though our lives paths only crossed on occasion... it was easy to recognize that Bill was a sincere, earnest, yet fun person. The community will miss him.

WOW!!! What a man! What a family! I've known this family since I was 5 or 6. Bill and I were in Viet Nam together but in diferent units. Dear Marybeth, To my beautiful friend. What I remember most is speaking with Bill at Donna and Michael McGrane's 2006 Christmas party. He spoke of his time in the Army, and how his "guys" were the only ones who gained weight in Basic Training! They had never seen so many different things on one plate, and they could eat as much as they wanted! More importantly, he spoke of how the guys would come to his bunk and cry about being homesick. Bill also said that many had never learned to tie a tie, so he did that for them, too. I told Bill that I could see him doing that, and have never forgotten that conversation. What a kind, gentle person Bill was, and how lucky he was to have you as his beloved and devoted wife.

Marybeth, Too soon. Greg, the boys and I remember many fond memories of church outings at First English, coming in for soccer shoes and hockey skates, getting their letter jackets. In all of these Bill was a part. The one place Brenden wanted to work was at the shop for Bill because he was a good guy. The problem was that Mark already had the job. For these memories we are greatful. You and Bill were great role models to the kids. God keep you in his care, Bill is already there. Kathy and Greg Gasser

Marybeth, Mike and Mark--Words fail in these moments however hopefully you know that so many people are here to help carry you through these hard times. You can find solace and a smile in those quiet reflective moments as you gaze over a lake sunset in the summer or feel the crisp autumn breeze in the beautiful Michigan fall knowing that Bill is looking down in his sharp stylish glasses and is always with you. You and all of us around you will always have wonderful memories of him to carry with us. I feel blessed to have been welcomed in by you and your family in the years I have been in Michigan. I will miss you and the boys as I move to Denver but more importantly we will all miss Bill.

I first met Billy when we were young Tigers playing little league baseball. We were reunited again as Tars at Denby High School and worked together as part of the senior class leadership. Then it was off to Ann Arbor as Wolverines where we roomed together as freshmen, along with Charlie Henstock, and learned to balance the pressures of our studies with the many fun distractions of a large university. Later we became "brothers" at the Sigma Chi house and have remained friends through our adult lives in spite of geographical separation. I always admired Bill's strength of character and sense of humor and will cherish the many memories of our friendship. I miss you William L.

To the Seppala family: I knew Bill as he employed my uncle Leo Pampalona for many years. My uncle was always appreciative and had the highest level of respect for his relationship with Bill and Harper Sport Shop. I'm sure they are together now and have outfitted all of heaven with the latest and greatest. As one Veteran to another, Bill thank you for your service to our country and everything you did for my uncle.

Dear Mary Beth, Michael and Mark, Please accept my sincere condolance on your loss, Bill was just too young to leave us, but he leaves an important legacy. I met Bill at Denby; he was always kind and supportive and his kindness was appreciated.
