

Blair, Wilson Aaron, Jr. ; delivered into the world July 11, 1933 in Acup, Kentucky to Wilson (dec) and Lina Blair (dec), passed suddenly into the loving hands of the Lord from the caring arms of his most beloved wife Marilynn, on the date of his favorite holiday, July 4, 2014. Mr. Blair enlisted in the U.S. Navy and went ashore in Korea with the First Marine Division, Medical Battalion as a valued corpsman to service the injured. Returning safely, he used the GI Bill to matriculate at Western Michigan University and later the University of Michigan. He dedicated 40 years to the students in Ferndale Public Schools. After retiring, Aaron devoted himself to his family, his pets, gardening, home improvements, travel and lending a hand whenever needed. In addition to his wife, Aaron leaves his children, Bobby and Amy, Timothy and Beverly, MaryLynn and Rob; his most beloved grandchildren, Danielle, Sarah, Scott, Joseph, Allison, Alyssa, Marlena, Patrick, Hunter, Tommy and Victoria. Also his sisters-in-law, Betty Blair, Jeanne Marie Williams, and Shirley and John Franchi. He will be sorely missed by his adoring puppies, Sweetie and Lovie. Aaron was predeceased by his parents, Wilson and Lina, his in-laws, Edward and Hazel; his brothers James and Jay; his sister, Frieda and brother-in-law Eddie Metry. Many cousins and friends will miss his helpfulness, work ethic, patriotism and devotion to family. His neighbors will miss the many decorations he displayed for every holiday. Visitation Tuesday 2:00 - 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Scripture service at 7:00 pm. Instate Wednesday 9:00 am until 10:00 am Funeral at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 467 Fairford, Grosse Pointe Woods.
