Benjamin Ray Brookes

We regret to announce Benjamin Ray Brookes 75 of Grove City, Ohio succumbed to his chronic illnesses with Covid's help on December 23, 2021. He went home to join his sons Ben Brookes and Will Tompkins, parents Irene and Ben Brookes and many more relatives and friends.

Ben will be greatly missed by loving wife Barbara a week short of 40 years and many sisters in law, brothers in law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and fur babies Docker and Larbear.

Ben was born May 30, 1946 Oakhill, West Virginia and graduated from North High School in 1965. He enjoyed fishing and camping on Greenbriar, Muskingum and annual Lake Erie Bass trips, Myrtle Beach vacations and watching OSU and Browns football games. He was a semi-truck driver, electrician, and a 40 year member of IBEW Local 683.

Special thanks to all health care workers at Mt Carmel Grove City as well as Jackson Township Fire and EMS.

Ben's family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Thursday, December 30 at Schoedinger Grove City, 3920 Broadway, where his funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment Beckett Cemetery, Orient, Ohio.
