

Charlie W. Morehead, age 73 of Grove City, formerly of Logan, Ohio passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at his residence. Charlie was born in Parkersburg, WV to the late Charles Lewis and Betty Ann (Russell) Morehead. He graduated from Belpre High School and Hocking Technical College. Charlie served his country in South Korea during the Viet Nam War. He was a former member of the Reynoldsburg Civitan Club, former member and board member of the Hocking Hills Chamber of Commerce and Hocking Hills Tourism Association, as well as a devoted member of the United Methodist Church. His military service was recognized a few years ago with an Honor Flight trip to Washington D.C. He and his wife Sharry owned and operated Crockett’s Run in Hocking Hills for 22 years. Charlie enjoyed golfing, running, and being outdoors. He had a gregarious personality and never met a stranger. He knew someone everywhere he went. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter Alexis; He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharry; daughters Teri (Bobby) Ward and Darci Morehead; he was “Poppi” to his grandchildren Macey, Bellamy, Brinley, Aiyanni, Darian, and Daelan. Charlie is also survived by his sister Dianna (Gary) Dowler; brother Jim (Shelly) Morehead; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. A service honoring Charlie’s life will be held at a later date.
