Darrek Allen Deffenbaugh

Darrek Allen Deffenbaugh, age 33, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. He was 2009 graduate of Franklin Heights High School. Darrek was a former fast food and warehouse worker. He loved playing baseball, basketball, video games, and spending time with his dog, Bear. He was a special person from the time that he was born. He was always friendly and treated everyone respectfully. He was smart, sweet, and loved life. He especially loved his family. He was very handsome and never met a stranger. He had a knack for working on cars and was a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Miami Dolphins. Darrek was preceded in death by his grandmother Retha Joy Bennett and his maternal great-grandparents, Hazel and Paul Duemmel, Sr.; great-aunt and great-uncle, Sylvia and Donald Jester; and paternal aunt and uncle, Lisa Deffenbaugh and Vincent Bennett. He is survived by his mother, Kathy (Guy) Thomas; father, Darren (Barb) Deffenbaugh; step-brother, Austin Thomas; step-sister, Ashley Thomas; maternal grandparents, Alice "Meme" and Paul "Papaw" Duemmel, Jr.; beloved dog, Bear; uncle, Paul (Lyn) Duemmel, III, Dale (Cheryl) Deffenbaugh, and Daryl Deffenbaugh; special cousins, Ellie (Dan) Coyne, Allison and Katelyn Duemmel, Brittany and Dominique Deffenbaugh; and many dear friends.
