

Franklin was born in Dover, OH to the late Harold W. and Jeanette M. (Alexander) Bolin. He attended college at The Ohio State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology a master’s degree in zoology and a master’s degree in higher education. Franklin taught advanced biology at Grove City High School for 30 years and retired from teaching in 1989. During his tenure, he had a tremendous impact on the lives of Grove City students. He went on to serve the Southwestern City School District as its business manager until 1997. Franklin was a naturalist at heart and loved all things nature. He traveled the United States in a partnership with the Columbus Zoo collecting animals for public display. Franklin was a member of Grove City Masonic Lodge F&AM #689 and president of the Ohio Lepidopterists Society. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Dustin; and sister Marsha Jean Albrecht. Franklin is survived by his sons Jason (Jamie Baldwin) Bolin and Ryan (Teresa) Bolin; grandchildren Mackenzie, Berlin, and Isabel Bolin, Jaylin Baldwin, Nicholas and Brennon Bolin. In accordance with Franklin’s wishes, there will be no public services.
