Gary O. Erwin

Gary Owen Erwin, age 74, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. He was born on May 10, 1951, to Jack and Zoelouma Erwin, who also preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Mary Erwin.

Gary was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his children, Gary M. (Theresa) Erwin, Lisa Dorsey (Johnny), and Jeff (Jennifer) Erwin; and his grandchildren, Cody, Autumn, Brooke Shae, David Ryan, Blake, Leila, and Christopher. He will be deeply missed by many other relatives and friends who knew and loved him.

Gary dedicated 28 years of his career to Midstate Sales in Gahanna, Ohio, where he later retired. He was a proud lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and actively involved in numerous organizations that supported and upheld the Second Amendment. He will be remembered for his knowledge, craftsmanship, and the care and pride he brought to everything he did.

Gary’s warmth, humor, and steadfast presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.

Gary’s family will receive friends on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., Grove City, Ohio 43123. Funeral service will be held the next day, Monday at 10:30 a.m. Interment Concord Cemetery.
