Hershell A. "Gus" Huffman

Hershell A. “Gus” Huffman, age 95, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at Brookdale Pinnacle. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Marilyn Huffman, parents, Earl and Matye Huffman, siblings, Garnet Keister, Sylvia Cassidy, Raymond Huffman, Frieda Shorte, and Art Huffman and special nephew Wayne. He is survived by his sons; Shawn (Denise) Huffman, Scott Huffman, sister, Betty (Eddie) Mayes, sister-in-law; Judy Huffman, dear friend, Robert Galloway, many nieces, nephews and good friends. Gus worked as a pressbrake operator for Magic Chef for 38 years. He enjoyed going to the horse races at Churchill Downs, Keeneland, Scioto Downs along with many others. He even got to touch Secretariat’s backside on a tour of the property at Claiborne Farms. Gus was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching the Dodgers and most recently the Yankees. He enjoyed his trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY in 2017. Gus also enjoyed playing euchre and doing crossword puzzles, and bowling with Marilyn. He was a member of Havens Corners Church for many years. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 4-8 pm at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY 4242 Hoover Rd where a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity in his name. A special thank you to the staff at Brookdale Pinnacle and Vitas Healthcare.
