Joan Hand Allen

Joan was known by friends and family as a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was an excellent executive assistant, mentor, vibrant artist, and devout member of the Catholic church. She loved to travel to Italy and central Europe.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Stella Hand, her brothers Bill and Geoff, her sister Pat, her beloved son Matthew, and her husband Robert “Boone” Allen. Joan is survived by her children Dan Brink, Julie (Randy) Slick, Elayne Brink Recupero, and grandchildren Kevin (Beth) Degnan, Lauren, Rachel, and Joe Brink, Joey, Gianni, and Maria Recupero, and great granddaughter Moira Degnan.

Visitation will be at Schoedinger Norris funeral home 4242 Hoover Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123 from 10-12 noon.

Joan will be interred at St. Joseph Cemetery 6440 South High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio 43137 with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel which begins at 1 pm.

Her quick wit, charm, and mischievous demeanor will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.
