

Joseph L. Boldizsar II, age 73 of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Doctors Hospital. Joe was born to Joseph L. and Helen (née Morbitzer) Boldizsar, grew up in Grove City, and graduated from Grove City High School, class of 1968. After graduation, Joe served his country in the US Army and served in Viet Nam. He retired from The Ohio State University after 30 years of dedicated service. Joe was a gun collector, particularly of Winchester paraphernalia. He enjoyed trap and skeet shooting, going to car shows, driving his corvettes, and collecting model cars. He liked to watch Civil War documentaries, Gunsmoke and TV westerns, Andy Griffith, as well as murder mysteries. He loved to make people laugh and always enjoyed telling a good story. He loved playing with his dogs. Above all he loved spending time with family especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by brothers Tim and Mike Boldizsar. He is survived by his wife of 23 ½ years Mary Jo Boldizsar; sons Nick (Maria) and Andy Boldizsar; grandchildren Megan Boldizsar, Christopher Lowery, and Nicholas Boldizsar II; great –grandchildren Kimberlynn and Wesson; sisters Rosalie Jahn, Joan Bivens, and Diane (James) Huston; sister-in-law Penny Boldizsar. Joe’s family will receive friends 4-7 PM Monday, December 26 at Schoedinger Grove City 4242 Hoover Rd (Hoover Rd at Kingston Ave) where his funeral service will follow at 7 PM.
