

Phil Rowe, age 72 of Grove City passed away after a valiant battle against Parkinson's disease Friday, March 11, 2022. Phil was born in Columbus to the late George R. and Gladys L. (née Stambaugh) Rowe and graduated from Hilliard High School, class of 1968. Phil then graduated from Capital University and owned/operated PD Express with his brothers for many years. Phil was passionate about model railroading. He was a member of the Central Ohio O Scalers, The National Model Railroad Association, Division 6, and the Great Soggy Bottom Boys. Phil was equally passionate about the care and treatment of Parkinson's Disease. In fact, he was a pioneer. He was one of the first patients to have Deep Brain Stimulus Surgery at OSU Medical Center. He then mentored other patients on the benefits of the procedure and spoke about his experiences to the medical community. He was courageous and persistent in his battle against Parkinson's Disease but never lost his sense of humor or positive outlook on life. Phil is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Rebecca Rowe; daughters Kelley (Jeffrey) Morris and Shannon (Marvin) Miller; he was "Papa Phil" to his grandsons MacKenzie, Cameron, Calahan, Nolan: and great -granddaughters Cassidy and Marcelline; he is also survived by his brothers Milton (Nancy), David (Patricia), Gregory, and Jeffrey (Julie) Rowe; sisters-in-law Joan (Gary) Woodard and Amy (Theodore) Sauder; brothers-in-law Matthew and Philip Smurr; his loyal yorkie-poo Bella; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Phil's family will receive friends 10-12 PM Friday, March 18 at Schoedinger Grove City 4242 Hoover Rd (Hoover Rd at Kingston Ave) where his funeral service will follow at 12 PM.
