

She was preceded in death by her beloved first husband of 49 years, George Roe; her parents, Martin Abel and Dorothy Juanita (Van Voorhis) Beckel; and her granddaughter, Jessica Amy Worstall.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 8 years, Scott Swisher; her daughter, Jane (Robert Ferrell) Bowen; granddaughter, Dawn April (Leon) Long; great-grandchildren, Nathan Andrew French, Malakii Scott Malone, and Jessica Lynn Malone; and great-great-grandson, Dekklan Scott Moore. She is also survived by her brother, Robert (Jean) Beckel; nephews, Keith Eugene Darst and Kenneth Edward "Kenny" Darst; as well as many dear friends and coworkers.
Ruth led a full and active life. She worked as a beautician, partnered with her first husband in home improvement projects, served as a secretary for a trucking company, and was a dedicated employee at Meijer for over 20 years. A woman of faith, she was a member of Thurman Avenue United Methodist Church and volunteered her time serving food at the Washington Avenue Food Pantry.
She enjoyed collecting eagle figurines, putting together jigsaw puzzles, going to yard sales, and dancing—bringing joy and light to those around her.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 4–7 p.m. at Schoedinger Grove City. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 11 a.m., officiated by Pastor Jay Schlenker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to Ruth's heart.
Ruth will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
