Samuel “Sammy” Jordan, 68, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, September 5, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born October 13, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Thomas and Barbara “Pud” (Morrow) Jordan. Sammy was a graduate from West High School and retired from Pepsi Cola Co. after over 25 years of service. His favorite pastimes were deer hunting, and fishing. Sammy was a charter member of the Midland Ave Baptist Church. Many would describe Sammy as a loving, kind and giving soul who had his door open to anyone and would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He often took in stray animals including the wildlife that were injured or needed a home. Sammy had a love of music, and you could hear him humming his favorite tune, dancing to the beat, and was the life of the party when he walked through the door. Sammy also loved old muscle cars and was a great WWII history buff and loved anything to do with our American Heritage. Sammy was very proud to be a direct descendant of John Gilbert Lewis (of Huguenot) part of the founding families of the great state of Virginia and high-ranking officers of the Revolutionary War. In addition to his parents, Sammy was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Jordan; brother-law, Howard Pemberton; and sister-in-law, Dee Jordan. He is survived by those that love him most, and will miss him terribly including his wife, Pamela “Pam” Lanning Montgomery Jordan; his step children, Robert (Kylie) Montgomery and Clint Montgomery; Tabatha (Troy) Tomlinson and Traci (Brian) Poppaw; his step grandchildren, Grace (Steven) Bower, Christian Montgomery, Noah and Elijah Tomlinson, Jude Barnhart, Savannah Montgomery, Chloe Montgomery, Blake, Brock, Brie, and Berkyle Montgomery; his sister, Barbara “Tooter” Pemberton; his brothers, Tommy Jordan and Johnny (Carol) Jordan; his sister-in-law, Bertie (Darrell) Perry; and his wonderful nieces and nephews: Michelle (Bruce) Delong, Monique (Edward) Taylor, Mary (Scott) Sizemore, Barbi Kalinowski, Howard (Elizabeth) Pemberton, Nina Pemberton, Adam Jordan, Kelly Jordan, Shannon Jordan, Nicole (James) Knapp, Julie Jordan, Johnny Jordan, Yvonne Griffith, Thomas (Patty) Jordan, Edmund (Myrna)Jordan, Michelle (Marc) Thum, and Tamica Webb who will always remember him as "Uncle Sambo the Best Uncle Ever"; and by his fellow "Brothers in Crime of the Rainbow Gang" Billy Comer, Richard Kasper, Eddie Gillium, Willie Reynolds, Ricky Salzer, David Spencer and Raymond Redding. Visitation will be held 2:00pm -4:00pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., (HOOVER RD AT KINGSTON AVE), Grove City where funeral service will follow at 4:00pm with Sammy’s cousin Pastor Mark Jordan officiating.
