Samuel Richard “Sam” Miller, 31, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2025. Born on September 10, 1993, in Rochester, Michigan, Sam brought color, kindness, and laughter into every room he entered — and every heart he touched.
A graduate of Grove City Christian High School, Sam ran cross country and began a lifelong love of performing. He later earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia College Chicago. Most recently, Sam worked as a flight attendant with JetBlue — a job that perfectly suited his adventurous spirit and boundless warmth. He especially loved traveling to Holden Beach, and his joy in exploring new places was matched only by the joy he brought to the people he met along the way.
Sam was truly one of a kind. He had an infectious laugh, a heart full of music, and a movie quote ready for every moment. He didn’t know a stranger. Whether he was dressing up for Halloween (a holiday he celebrated year-round with his Halloween Christmas tree), picking up pickleball, or simply spending time with loved ones, Sam lived life with passion and authenticity.
He was a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, and friend. Sam is survived by his mother, Amie (David) Neeley (Miller), his sister, Katie (Justin) Eilerman; his brother, Noah (Alana) Miller; niece Charlie Eilerman and his stepbrothers, Steven and Matthew Neeley.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Miller; his grandfather, Ralph Miller; and his beloved "Pappa," Richard Jordan.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Grove City, where his funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Ross Meeker officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sam's name to rosecrance.org/foundation-donor.
Sam’s light, laughter, and love will be remembered and missed always. To know him was to love him — and to be loved by him was a gift beyond measure.
