Alicia Gonzales, 89, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. She was born on May 23, 1925 to Catalina Peña Estevez and Florentino Estevez in Puebla, Mexico. She was a 67 year resident of the Nederland/Port Arthur area.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Antonio “Tony” Gonzales, Jr.; daughter, Delia “Dee” Sumrow; brothers, Roberto Estevez and Jorge Estevez.
Alicia is survived by her sons, Jesse Gonzales of Silsbee, daughter-in-law, Kimberly Gonzales, Alfred and wife Cathy Gonzales of Humble; daughter, Mary “Alice” and husband Andrew Garcia of Nederland; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 5-8 PM with a 6:30 PM rosary at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be November 12, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. T.R. Blanco acting as celebrant with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
