

Nick is described by his family as a loyal husband, devoted father and loving Grandfather. Nick proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired in 1984 from Texaco where he was a Boiler Maker. He was very proud of his Catholic faith and traditions and was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, volunteering his time in any capacity he could. Nick was a member of the Groves Knights of Columbus and earned the rank of 4th degree and former Grand Knight. Nick enjoyed building and repairing, he was a carpenter during his spare time and built his primary residence, his lake home and helped build and repair many homes for his family members. He had a gift of mathematics and amazed his friends and family by having such a way with numbers and measurements. Nick loved opera music but he valued his family most and always felt that family was more important than wealth. He will be greatly missed by many.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Michael Sam Bruno, daughter, Julianna Bruno Rent, sisters, Mary Bruno Hebert, Rose Bruno Licatino, brothers in law, Sam Licatino, Mahlan Dartez, Emmett Mallet and Malcolm Mallet, son in law, Nick Norris, Jr., and sister in law, Glenys Bruno.
Nick is survived by his loving wife who he called his "Doll", June Mallet Bruno, sons, David Bruno and his wife Gayle of Bryan; Martin Bruno of Denton; Douglas Bruno of Katy; Andrew and his wife Beverly of Beaumont; daughters, Victoria Bruno- Norris of Port Neches; Regina Gaspard and her husband Norman of Bridge City; Stephanie Nahavandi and her husband Hamid of Houston; brothers Roy Bruno and his wife Gloria of Port Arthur; Joseph Bruno of Labelle; sisters, Kathryn Monk of Port Arthur; Sadie Harrington and her husband Will of Groves; Lena Mallet of Groves and Tootsie Dartez of Nederland; grandchildren, Megan Nichole Norris, Alison Victoria Norris Brocato, Vincent Bruno, Kyle Bruno, Juliana Grace Gaspard, Emma June Gaspard, Jenna Harris, Leila June Nahavandi, Camron Jon Nahavandi, Ashton Pracht, Madison Bruno, Nicholas Bruno, Leo Bruno, Nathan Lee Bruno, Lori Michelle Matthews, Kevin Michael Brumley, Layne Aaron Bruno, Hayward McClain Bruno, Griffin Crosby Bruno; great grandchildren, Layla Navarre, Fallon Navarre, Anthony Bruno, Haylee Bruno, Carson Bruno, Danielle Blust, Mikka Harris, Zachary Harris, Lindsay Blust, Matthew Bust, Jr., David Harris, Hayden Greenly Pracht, Silas James Matthews, Isabella Grace Matthews, Savanaah Brooke Matthews, Eloise Marie Brumley and Shiloh Merrick Brumley.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves with Monsignor Kenneth Greig officiating.
