Dorothy M. Mcdaniel

Dorothy Raymond was born on March 18, 1940, in Port Arthur, Texas to Walter Raymond Sr. and Isabella Thompson Raymond. She was a 1959 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. She attended Prairie View A&M University.

Dorothy Raymond McDaniel married Dan McDaniel III and from their union had four children. Dorothy Raymond McDaniel leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Scarlet McDaniel-Talley (Anton) of Port Arthur, Texas, Rolunda McDaniel- Davis (Gene) of Baytown, Texas, Twila McDaniel- Bell (Kent) of Indianapolis, Indiana; one son, Dan McDaniel IV (Trenia) of Port Arthur, Texas and six grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Gloria Mae Jones and Essie Mae Fisk and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Isabella Raymond; her husband, Dan McDaniel III; three brothers, Walter Raymond Jr., Albert Lee Raymond, John Dillinger Raymond and one sister, Francis Woodson.

The homegoing celebration will be Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, 1224 Houston Ave., Port Arthur, Texas 77640 with Rev. Glenn Holmes, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be at the Church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Port Arthur.
