

Ernest Williams, Sr. of Port Arthur died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Senior Rehabilitation Center. A native of Jeanerette, Louisiana, he was a resident of Port Arthur for 60 years. He was a faithful member of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, where he served on the James Preston Usher Board under the leadership of Rev. Glenn Holmes, Sr. He was a construction foreman at Local 853 for 52 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Manson and Eva Williams; two brothers, Herman and Sidney Vilo; one sister Doretha Shields, two children Michael Williams and Laura Ann Williams; one grandson Hayward Monceaux.
Survivors include his beloved wife for 52 years Mary Williams, children William Douglas of Port Arthur, Ernest Williams Jr. (Anitra) of Katy, TX, Larry Williams (Silvia) of Katy, TX, Kenneth Williams, Sr. (Angela) of San Antonio, TX, Donald Williams, Sr. (Angela) of Katy, TX, Donna Reynolds (Donald), Marla Harris, Katina Williams, and Anthone’ Williams all of Port Arthur, TX; one sister-in-law, Thelma Chatman of New Iberia, LA; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two dear and devoted friends Howard and Florence Lewis of Port Arthur, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church with a viewing from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park
