

Gloria was born and raised in Port Arthur, Texas. She was a 1948 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and attended the University of Texas (Austin) Nursing School. After returning to Port Arthur, she was employed by Texas U. S. Chemical and Ameripol/ Synpol Companies as a lab technician where she retired after 36 years of service.
Predeceased in death by her parents J. L. & Inez Morton, and her loving cousin, Norma Louvier, Gloria is survived by several cousins in the Port Arthur area as well as in Houston and Biloxi, MS. Perhaps the greatest love in her life was for her mother, Inez, with whom she was able to spend many years traveling and enjoying life's experiences together. She had numerous friends over time and those relationships enabled her to create special bonds that have existed over the span of her life.
Gloria was a long-time member of the Happy Bunch Singles Club and an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Services will be conducted by Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the Thompson Memorial Chapel. A private family burial will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
