

John is survived by his mother, Audrey Ford Levine and Sisters Cherice Levine (Xavier Rogers) and Zendora Kight of Port Arthur, Texas and Debbie Ford-Bailey of Dallas, Texas, nieces: Taylor Bailey & Ivory Davis, nephew’s Jalan Thomas & Jackson Bailey and a host of aunts, uncles and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father John Ford Jr. and step-father Ellis Levine.
John was born on August 4, 1968 in Groves, Texas to John Ford Jr and Audrey Ford. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson in 1986. He attended Stephen F Austin State University, Nacogdoches, TX, and a graduate of Lamar University Regional Police Academy, Beaumont, TX. He was attending Southern New Hampshire University and was schedule to graduate in May 2015 with Bachelor Degree in Homeland Security.
Brother John Ford III served as “Worshipful Master” of Doric Lodge #95 AF/AM.
John was employed with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department as a Sheriff’s Deputy, Deputy US Marshall. He was also employed at the City of Port Arthur as a Certified Environmental Inspector. Currently John was the CEO of Ellis Academy of Excellence Inc., a non-profit organization.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 2:00 pm and the viewing will be from 11 am to 2 pm at Douglas Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 1370 Ewing Street, Beaumont, Texas 77701. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home. Repass to follow at the Knights of Peter Claver Hall 1001 Grannis Ave, Port Arthur, TX 77640. Pastor David Robinson Sr will officiate the ceremony.
