Mary Helen Ransom, 60, of Port Arthur went to be with her Lord on February 24, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary was born on January 21, 1955 in Port Arthur to the late Wallace and Irma Ransom.
She was a 1973 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and worked at Christus St. Mary’s Hospital for 20 years as a Unit Secretary. Mary was an active and faithful member at St. James Catholic Church, KPC Ladies Auxiliary #182 and other organizations throughout Port Arthur.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her oldest sister, Cecilia Hope Swift.
Mary’s legacy of love and devotion will forever be cherished by her loving daughter Amanda (Joe); 2 granddaughters Ashley and Jendiya; a loving companion of 20+ years, Stanford Gunner, Sr.; 3 sisters; 2 brothers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at St. James Catholic Church with a viewing from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
