Maydell Landry

Maydell Delahoussaye Landry, 86, of Nederland died July 30, 2011 at Promise Hospital in Nederland. Born July 29, 1925 in St. Martinville, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Natalie Landry Delahoussaye and Alexis Delahoussaye. Mrs. Landry worked in the package division with Texaco. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, and family gatherings. She was the heart of the family.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald Landry and his wife, Gail of Port Arthur and Eddie Landry of Nederland; daughters, Susan Landry Dillon and her husband, Pat and Gail Landry Wall and her husband, Bill all of Beauxart Gardens; brothers, Andre Delahoussaye, Dutel Delahoussaye, and Dudley Delahoussaye; sisters, Bab Babin, Con Huval, and Hilda Dohmann; grandchildren, Patrick Dillon, Jr. and his wife, Shaina, Derek Landry and his wife, Melinda, Devin Landry, and Stephanie Dillon Shearin and her husband, Dean; great grandchildren, Caden Dean Shearin, Chase Dean Shearin, Camryn Delaney Shearin, Brady Landry, Sophi Marie Dillon, and another on the way in September. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd P. Landry; parents; sisters, Lydia Huval and Emily Tauzin; and brother, Desire Delahoussaye.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland followed by burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday evening, August 2, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
