Wallace Moore

Wallace Nathaniel Moore, 82 of Port Arthur, TX passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 1, 1931in Kingsland, Georgia, to the late Charlie and Alma Moore. He was a resident of Port Arthur for over 63 years and retired from U.S. Steel Container Products.

Wallace N. Moore attended Camden County High School in Kingsland, Georgia and furthered his studies at Port Arthur College.

On September 17, 1949, he married the love of his life, Retta Mae Merrow and was joined together for nearly 65 years. Four children were born from this union: three sons and one daughter.

Wallace Moore was a faithful member of Harvest Time Bible Church, under the leadership of his youngest son, Pastor Marvin E. Moore.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving, devoted, and faithful wife Retta Moore, two sisters: Jane and June Moore, three sons: Charles W. Moore, Larry L. Moore, & Pastor Marvin E. Moore (wife, Lois) all of Port Arthur, TX; one daughter Minister Jaqueline Moore Lyons of Houston, TX, a devoted aunt Roberta Campbell of Kingsland, GA, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, one niece, two nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2014, 11:00am at Harvest Time Bible Church, 4430 Jimmy Johnson Blvd., with Pastor Marvin E. Moore officiating. The visitation is scheduled from 9:30am – 11:00am. Arrangements are under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
