Alexander Mark Sergejew

Alex was dear son to Walter (predeceased) and Jenny (Sorbara) Sergejew, Son-in-law to Stanley Boyd (predeceased) He was a devoted husband, soulmate to the love of his life, Irene. Proud and loving father to Kyla and Megan (Alec) Sergejew and Greg Elliott (Katie). A cherished brother to Tina Einsmann (Kevin), Frank (Joanne), Peter and Walter Jr. Adored “Pop” to Matthew and Madison. Brother-in-law to Janice, Jerry and Jeannie (Mike). Wonderful uncle to Micala, Cody (Brittni), Nicolas (Chloe), Drake, Shanelle, Jessica (Nolan), Kody, KeeRa, Jase, Miranda (Jonathan), Kyle, Keltie and Kallen. Great Uncle to Kaidyn and Maddox. Best friend of Peter and Jodi Gemin and their children Ryan and Rachel.

He shared a beautiful life with his loving wife, Irene. Their marriage was built on mutual respect, laughter; and a deep love that touched everyone who knew them. She was his heart, and he devoted himself to her happiness, protection, and every need. Together they created a home full of warmth and joy. Their love is everlasting.

Always on the move, Alex brought boundless energy and skill to everything he did, ready to help anyone at a moment’s notice. He brought light, laughter, and kindness to everyone who knew him. He had a gift for making people feel valued, and his humor could fill any room.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and was happiest when on the water or in the snow. Whether boating in the summer or snowmobiling in the winter, he embraced every season with joy and adventure. An amazing athlete, he brought dedication and energy to everything he did.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will continue through the lives of those he touched.

Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home and Chapel, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Thursday, October 16 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John’s Church on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 10:30 am . Interment Marymount Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
