Anna Strickland

Strickland, (Azzoparde), Anna -- Lovingly surrounded by her family, at Riverside Long Term Care, Guelph, on Thursday, May 5, 2011. Anna (Farrugia) (Azzoparde) Strickland, in her 84th year, was the beloved wife of the late Louis Strickland, and the late Joseph Azzoparde. She was the loving mother of Yvonne Azzoparde- Milana of Ripley, Dave Azzoparde and his wife Lucille, Suzanne Hare- Azzoparde, and Sonia Harding (Jeff Landoni), all of Guelph, Seymour Azzoparde and his wife Patricia of Aberfoyle, Deborah and her husband Murray Robertson of Guelph, Stephen and Wendy Azzoparde of Cambridge, and Sally and her husband Dave Nelson of Guelph. Anna was the proud grandmother of Jamie, Gord, Heather, Pamela, Sharla, Kyle, Tamie, Rebecca, Kilima, Ryan, Nathen, Doug, Michael, Andrew, Tiffany, Brianna, Mercedes, Tyler, and Daniel, and great-grandmother of 20 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister-in-law Nancy Azzoparde of Guelph. Anna will be fondly remembered by her family in Malta and by members of the Strickland family. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Sunday, May 8, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Anna will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at the Church of Our Lady 28 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
