Antonio Tony Rossi

ROSSI, Antonio (Tony) - Peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital with his family by his side, on Thursday, September 4, 2008. Tony Rossi in his 64th year, was the Beloved husband of Nina (Sorbara). Predeceased by his loving Parents Ferdinando and Filomena Rossi. He was the Dear Father of Freddy Rossi and Maria LaBarbera (Kelly Rossi), predeceased by Filomena Rossi, Rosanna (Lenny Fonte), Antoinette (Sam Lucchese), Francesca Rossi and Jeff Blythe. Cherished Nonna of Nina, Antonio, Michael, Matteo, Filomena and Michela. Dear Brother of Geraldo and the late Maria of Guelph, Rosa (Pasqualino), Mimmo (Theresa), Lucia (Pasquale), Giuseppina (Giuseppe), Anna (Alberto), Annunziata (Pasquale) and Carolina, all of Italy. Beloved Son-in-Law of Francesca and the late Giuseppe Sorbara. Cherished Brother-in-Law of Maria and John Varamo, the late Vince Sorbara, Maurizio Sorbara, George Sorbara, Rosanna and Charlie Campagnaro, Rita and Rick Kierstead. Tony will be deeply missed by many nieces and nephews in Guelph and Italy. Tony was raised in Pagani, Salerno Italy until the age of seventeen, at which time he came to Guelph. In 1966 at the age of twenty he started his own business Anthony's Hairstyling which continues to be a success. In 1967, he met and married Nina his wife of 41 years. Together they built a close loving family, that continues to grow with love and respect. During Tony's life he touched many lives with his caring nature and joy of life. His generosity went without notice always wanting to give back more than he received. He will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Sincere gratitude to Dr. A. Sohn and Karen Bushell (home nurse) you became a part of the family with your love and care, also to Dr. Levstik, Dr. Marotta and Paul Myers ( London). Special thanks to the 4th floor doctors and nurses including his nephew Domenic Rossi, who cared for Tony over the years and to his group members and sponsor Wes Philp. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, "Hart Chapel", 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph where the family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday September 6 and Sunday September 7 from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. A vigil will be held at the funeral home on Sunday September 7 at 8:30p.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. John's Church, 45 Victoria Road, North, Guelph on Monday September 8 at 10a.m. Interment Marymount Cemetery.
