He was predeceased by his mother Alice Lucille MacIntyre (nee Chisolm) his father Edmound Joseph MacIntyre, brothers Rusty (Ellen), James, Murph (Vera) and sisters Ruby (phil) , Eva Stewart (Bud). Additionally, Boyd was survived by his brothers Donnie MacIntyre (Sharon), Alan MacIntyre (Lynda) and sister Alsa Ferguson (nee MacIntyre).
Boyd was the loving husband to Carole (nee Hall) for almost 60 years. He was extremely proud of his children, son Rod (Heidi) and daughter Lynne. He was the granddad to Brittany, Brooke, Sarah, Isabella, Mack and Kaleigh. He also had many nieces and nephews which he loved dearly.
Boyd had a very successful career in the pulp and paper industry. His job required the family to move frequently to many cities and towns in Quebec and Ontario. For those who knew Boyd well they would know his unwavering loyalty whether it be for his family and friends, or most importantly, for his devotion to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Boyd was very quick witted and he had a sense of humour to match. He loved sharing stories about his hockey days, growing up in Campbellton, New Brunswick, or bragging about his kids.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
To honour his wishes, there will not be a service. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Salvation Army (see link below this obituary) or to the Hockey Canada Foundation in honour of Boyd. Click here to go to the Hockey Canada Foundation donation page
