Carol Goll (nee Fischer)

Loving mother to Jennifer and Mark. Cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. Dear sister to Monica Longo (late Ed). Predeceased by her beloved husband Alex Goll, and her brothers Jack Fischer (Theresa) and Ted Fischer (Joan). Will be missed by all friends and extended family.

Known far and wide for her legendary butter tarts and a wide array of baked treats, she delighted family, friends, and neighbors with her warm kitchen and even warmer spirit.

A dedicated member of the Catholic Women’s League for over 40 years, Carol lived a life of quiet strength and service. Her work with the Children’s Aid Society reflected her deep compassion and commitment to caring for others, especially the most vulnerable.

Carol had an extraordinary memory and a gift for connection. She was lovingly referred to as the “living family tree,” always able to recall birthdays, family ties, and the names of even distant relatives and neighbors. Her genuine kindness, thoughtful words, and unwavering respect earned her a special place in the hearts of all who knew her.

She cherished life's simple joys such reading romance and mystery novels, knitting with care, gathering with friends and family, playing cards, sharing time and space together, and especially going dancing with her beloved husband, Alex. Carol's legacy is one of grace, generosity, and deep-rooted love. Carol will be fondly remembered as the heart of her community and the keeper of its stories, along with her sense of family being the core of who she was.

Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St N, Guelph, ON. A Visitation for Carol will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 AM. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Livestream will be available for those unable to attend. Inurnment to follow at Marymount Cemetery. Reception to follow.
