HAYES, J. Charles— It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Joseph Charles Hayes, at the age of 82 years, after a lengthy illness, at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph, on May 14, 2015 with family by his side. Charlie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gwen (nee Kerr) Hayes, by their children Gregory (Linda), Jeffrey, Sean and Erin (Ronald Rigelhof) and by grandchildren Katrina and Matthew. He will also be missed by his sisters-in-law Gloria Hayes, Maureen Pinsonneault and by his brother-in-law Brian Kerr (Colleen), as well as many nieces and nephews. Charlie was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Oliva Hayes, his siblings Alex, Cecilia and Edward Hayes, his granddaughter Kayla Rigelhof, his brothers-in-law Gorman, Ainslie and Monty Kerr and his sisters-in-law Edna Badcock and Eleanor Ross. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 10 a.m., followed by entombment of ashes at Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
