David Paul Asselin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Paul Asselin, peacefully surrounded by his family at home. David was the dear husband of Sophie Mirtsos-Asselin, and loving father to Nicholas and Megan (Martin). David was proud to know that he would soon be a Grandfather. Beloved son of Darlene (Rob) Brown and the late David Mancuso. Cherished grandson of Dorothy and the late Duncan Carmichael. Brother to Jennifer Reid (Gord), Bob (Jennifer) Brown and Natalie (Manny) Fitzpatrick. David will be missed by his nephews. David was a painfully proud fan of the Dallas Cowboys, so much, that regardless of Doctors orders he flew to Dallas with his family to see them play. It was a trip that will be cherished forever. His sense of humor that kept everyone smiling will be dearly missed, always known as the ‘King’ of one-liners. David loved the farm, helping when he could with the cattle and watching each year’s new crops grow, it was his true passion. Family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Westminster St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 206 Victoria Road N., Guelph, on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 11 a.m. Internment to follow at Udney Cemetery, Orillia.
