David passed from A.L.S. in his fifty- eighth year. Predeceased by his loving father Gerald McWhinnie 1940-2016. Survived by his loving mom, Frances McWhinnie, also his sister Lisa and David’s partner Tracy Wallace, aunt Helen (Godmother) and cousins; Kevin-Amy, Stephen-Ashley and all the cousins and family in Scotland and South Africa.
David loved his soccer playing days, with his dad by his side in a coaching role. He particularly enjoyed playing with his loyal friends from those days, when they travelled to play in Scotland and the U.S.A. and their success in winning many trophies and participation in the Robbie Tournament. David played for over fifteen years and only a knee injury forced him to stop playing. David’s favourite hockey team was the Toronto Maple Leafs and he was a loyal fan.

Private cremation services have taken place. The Venue has changed to the following location: A Celebration of David’s Life will be held at the Italian Canadian Club (135 Ferguson St. Guelph) on Friday, April 25th from 5-8 pm.
