David Henry Pollard

Dave fought a long and courageous battle with cancer and will be forever remembered for his strength and kindness.

Dave will be dearly missed by his wife of 33 years Carolyn (nee O’Connor), daughters Erica and Kristen (Ian) Williams and his furry companion, Piper. He is also survived by his brother Brian, sister Karen, brother-in-law Mike (Oliva) O’Connor and sister-in-law Patricia (David) Gerrior. He was a loving and supportive uncle to Nicolette (Tim), Joseph, Caitlin (Patrick), Allee, Matthew, Renee, Shannon and Karina, and great uncle to Samuel, Cole, Estelle and Talia. Predeceased by his parents James and Eleanore Pollard of Guelph. He will also be greatly missed by his best friend Dougie Slauenwhite and his wife Linda.

Dave’s pride and joy were the 3 “girls” in his life and his love was unconditional and endless for them all.

He was well known in the gym community and had a great passion for bodybuilding winning two Mr. Ontario Bodybuilding titles. He was an avid sports enthusiast with a love for football and hockey.

A special thank you to the staff of Hospice Wellington for their loving care and support during his final days. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to our home care nurse, Bonita, for her compassionate care given to Dave.

Visitation will be held at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel and a reception to follow in the Fellowship Lounge.
