(“Hebbsy”) on February 19, 2019. Derek is now once again with his loving wife, Margaret Hebbes (who passed away in November 2001). Derek’s life was full and well lived, and he has left the gift of precious memories for his children, Wayne Hebbes (Heather) and Tracey Jandrisits (Edward), and his grandchildren (Derek, Nicole, Aidan, and Sam),
step grandchildren (Keegan, Simon, Matthew, and Michael) and great grand-son Hayden. Derek was born in Birkenhead England in June 1933; and his adventurous spirit soon led him to travel the world with his family; living in Africa, England, and finally Canada. Derek is also survived by his brother Charlie Hebbes (Kathy) in Australia, and his sister Eileen Feather (John) in South Africa. Derek was a humble and hard-working man. He was also an avid reader and animal lover (most recently dad to feline sons Riley and Blue), and will be remembered for his kindness, generous and caring personality, his intellect and incredible sense of humour, and above all his deep and unconditional love and commitment to his family.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 12-4pm at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph.
In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Guelph General Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Cards available at the funeral home (519-821-5077) or donations and condolences may be made on line at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
