

Purdon, Donald Francis (January 9, 1923-April 14, 2014) Died peacefully at Guelph on April 14, 2014 in his 92nd year surrounded by loved ones. Served in the R.C.A.F in World War II as aircrew officer. Long-time member of the Royal Canadian Military Institute and the London United Services Institute. Past board member of the Catholic Cemeteries of the Diocese of London and CNIB London. Enjoyed many years as a participant in the London Huff and Puff Hockey League. Predeceased by his loving and much missed wife Myrtle (2001). Survived by his son Dr. Cameron Purdon (Nora Power) of Guelph and his daughter Shannon (Lt. Colonel Rory Kilburn, Ret’d.) of Kingston. Esteemed “Grandfather” to Stephanie Armstrong (Bruce) of Yellowknife, Capt. Joshua Kilburn (Capt. Samantha Laplante) of Montreal, Capt. Brendan Kilburn of Kingston, Lt. Hugh Purdon of Petawawa, Kathleen, Alison and Rory Purdon of Guelph. Proud “Great Grandfather” of Madison and David Armstrong of Yellowknife. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Parish, 175 Emma St. Guelph, ON, Saturday April 26, 2014 at 10:30 a.m., reception to follow in the church hall. Interment at a later date at Trout Creek Cemetery, Trout Creek, ON.
