

It is with great sadness to share the peaceful passing of Dorothy (Dot) on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the age of 92. Dorothy passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Guelph. Beloved wife of 52 years of the late Mr. Frederick James Parker and most recent wife of 20 years of the late Mr. Melville Clarence Good. Dorothy was born in Brantford, Ontario and resided in the cities of Brantford, London, Gravenhurst, and Guelph, Ontario. In the winter months, she enjoyed the life of a snowbird visiting Lantana and Zephyrhills in Florida. Dorothy and her husband Fred had long successful careers at 3M in London meeting many wonderful friends along the way. Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed welcoming friends and family into her home in Gravenhurst and was sure to greet everyone with a smile, hug and their favourite pie. Dorothy was the cherished mother of Bruce (late Sandy) Parker and Sherry (late Patrick) McKenna. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Sherry (Travis) Hilts, Scott (Angela) Parker, Jeff Sewell, Jason (Cynthia) Sewell and Heather (Mike) Sewell. Dorothy was a loving great-nana to her 9 great-grandchildren Katie, Christopher, Macaulay, Reid, Avery, Ainslee, Kayden, Harris and Ivy. Dorothy most recently became a great-great-grandmother when Declan was born in March. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 from 2 – 4 p.m. Please register using the RSVP button to attend a visitation time on the funeral home website. A private graveside service will be held at the Mickle Memorial Cemetery in Gravenhurst at 1 p.m. the following day.
